
Celina M. Diaz
Celina M. Diaz graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry in 2000 and a B.A. in Spanish with Special Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. She earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 2005 and joined Carstens & Cahoon, LLP as an associate in 2007, where her primary focus in patent prosecution is in the field of food chemistry.
Her undergraduate curriculum exposed her to a wide range of technical and pre-medical sciences, including molecular biology, physical and quantum chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, organic and inorganic chemistry, mechanics, and advanced analytical chemistry. She also studied science and literature at the University of Complutense in Madrid, Spain.
While in law school, she was an associate editor for the Intellectual Property Law Journal, a member of the Student Recruitment Organization Committee, and became certified as a trained mediator. In her last year of law school, she also clerked with an environmental law firm, served as a representative in the Student Bar Association, and was selected as one of four permanent class agents for the Class of 2005. In addition, she served as Attorney ad litem through the Children’s Law Clinic Program, representing children involved in Child Protective Services cases. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced as a lead attorney for the United States Small Business Administration.
Ms. Diaz is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
